The Rector's Message

 WELCOME!

We are in the long, dry spell known as "Ordinary
Time," the season after Pentecost, when the Church Calendar is void of major festivals and many of us turn our thoughts to vacation. However, this is the time that corresponds to the time we live in, the time between the day of Pentecost and the Second Coming, and should be a time of fruitful prayer, action and study.
I'm reminded of a time when Pope John XXIII was asked how many people worked in the Vatican. He supposedly replied, "About half of them!" We Christians must never forget that our time here is for the Lord, and that everything we do we should do to the glory of God. Not that we shouldn't have fun -- just that we should have fun while we remember the Lord! May you have a joyful and holy summer.
